I have chosen Kimberly Elise for the role of Rose because I believe her humble character and personality reflects her love for his family or for the ones she loves just as Rose did. Rose is a forty three year old African American housewife who volunteers at her church regularly and loves her family. She is married to Troy Maxon but with ten years younger than him. Rose recognizes Troy's spirit as fine and illuminating one but she also ignores his faults and actions of an abusive and dishonest person. Unlike Troy, Rose is realist and has high hopes for her son Cory who aspires or wishes to play football. She seems to be a very good looking woman and attractive according to Troy " I look here, I look there, I saw Rose and I latched on to her" (1109) Rose's compassion is reflected also in the acceptance of Troy's illegitimate daughter Raynell. Even Though she does not drink, her presence is an integral part of the Friday night rituals or meetings with Troy and Bono.
